Daws Hall and Pelham
Safety and Risk Assessment

The teaching staff at the Daws Hall and Pelham Centres takes all reasonably practical steps to secure the health, safety and welfare of everyone who visits the premises in an organised party.

We follow the Essex County Council 'Safe practice on educational, adventurous and recreactional visits code of practice 28' and the 'Youth Service Health and Safety code of practice 31'. From these we have also formulated our own specific policy and code of practice. These documents and further information on risk assessment are available to download.

All Centre teaching staff carry an appropriate first aid kit, mobile phone and safety equipment and are qualified First Aiders. Unless otherwise arranged, we teach all school groups. Working with visiting members of staff we accept responsibility for the group from the point of disembarkation until visitors are back in coaches or minibuses.
